As we prepare the Club for re-opening, with all the additional measures necessary to ensure a safe and spacious environment, we have to evaluate the needs and wishes of our members in all areas and make the best use of all areas of the club in what will become (for a time at least) a new ‘normal’.

 Some of you may be aware that, prior to the current crisis, the demand for the Crèche had reduced. However, knowing the popularity and high regard in which the service was held by members, we remained keen to continue to offer it.

 This has now changed and we need additional space to provide an extended fitness service to members. We expect to use the area to provide new individual work out spaces (pods) particularly for those members anxious to minimise contact with others in the early stages of re-opening.

 In addition, Carol Hall, our Crèche Manager, has made the very difficult decision to move on to “pastures new”. She will not be with us when we re open the Club, but she leaves us with a heavy heart (matched by ours at losing her!) and she takes with her our very best wishes and thanks for the exceptional work that she and her team have done for the past six years.

 This will no doubt be sad news for those of you who have used, and rely on our Crèche but I want to assure you that this is not a decision that we have taken lightly.

 As you will appreciate, this will be a difficult time for our Crèche staff who have been informed of this today. I hope you agree that the team have provided a wonderful facility caring for your children and I know you will join us in extending a big thank you to them all.
